12x12 Calendar Block - March

Cutting Guide

Cutting Guide for cardstock

I used brown Artisan Cardstock for the base squares. These are triple matted.

Brown Cardstock / or whatever color you choose. These will go onto our 12x12 piece of cardstock base.

2 – 3 ½ x 6

1 – 3 x 6

1 – 2 x 6

1 – 3 x 5 ¾

1 – 2 ½ x 5 ¾ 

1 – 5 x 5

Then I cut the next color which is a coordinating color of your choice. You can trim them a little more if you want the bottom to have more of a border

Note from Tammy: I have the album all drawn out but not completely finished as we will be making this as we are going so you will have to have blind faith in me. :) Or waiting until I am done and you can go back and construct your album. The videos will be available forever.

I am so looking forward to getting this big chore out of the way long before December arrives. :) We will be all ready for those pictures to flow in :)

I am using Authentique Nostalgia for mine. The whole idea is to get out those collections you didn't use. I will be making the flaps around 3x4 and the 4x6 cut a parts in our collections. Any Christmas collection will work great for this.

What started out as an octagon desk organizer evolved in to square by Jayne Spanton. 

Desk Organizer – Rectangle Boxes
Instructions:
1. 1 @ 12 x 12 – Back Box
2. Score on 12in side @ 2in and 8in
3. Score on 12in side @ 1 7/8, 3 ¾, 7 ½ and 9 3/8.
4. Cut pattern paper for mats as follows: 
a. 4 pieces @ 5 7/8 x 1 ¾ and 4 pieces at 5 7/8 x 3 5/8 ( different papers for inside and outside )

5. 1 @ 12 x 9 ¾ - Middle Box
6. Score on 9 ¾ side @ 2in and 6in
7. Score on 12in side @ 1 7/8, 3 ¾, 7 ½ and 9 3/8.
8. Cut pattern paper for mats as follow:
a. 4 pieces @ 3 7/8 x 1 ¾ and 4 pieces at 3 7/8 x 3 5/8 ( different papers for inside and outside )

9. 1 @ 12 x 6 ¾ - Front Box
10. Score on 6 ¾ side @ 2in and 4 ½ 
11. Score on 12in side @ 1 7/8, 3 ¾, 7 ½ and 9 3/8.
12. Cut pattern paper for mats as follow:
a. 4 pieces @ 2 3/8 x 1 ¾ and 4 pieces at 2 3/8 x 3 5/8 ( different papers for inside and outside )

13. Inside bottom pieces of back, middle and front boxes:
a. 3 @ 1 ¾ x 3 5/8

14. Outside bottom of back, middle and front boxes: ( once they are all glued together )
a. 1 @ 3 5/8 x 5 5/8

If you want to add a box on each side of this set, you will need the following:

15. Make 2 more sets of #9 - #12
16. Cut 4 more pieces of 1 ¾ x 3 5/8 for inside and outside bottoms
17. Place these 1 box on each side, flush with bottom of 3 box set and flush to the back edge.

G45 Princess Folio

Tonight's tutorial is this gorgeous folio

Tammy will be starting 1/2 hour earlier this Monday as this project may take a little extra time. The tutorial will begin at 5:30 MST

The folio is made mostly out of cardstock, but she used light weight chipboard pieces on the spine areas. The light weight chipboard is included in the cutting guide but you can make this folio without it. The light weight chipboard helps the folio keeps its shape. Regular chipboard is too heavy. The light weight chipboard is available in the store, but you can also use the back of your paper pads.

For the circles on the bottom Tammy used a We R Memories circle cutter. One is 4.5 inches one is 4 inches, you can use a die, doily or your machine to cut your circles. You will need one that is about 3 inches for inside.

The boxes are 2 1/2 square, the circles are from a 2 inch punch and the numbers are 1 3/4 high.

In the picture Tammy used scraps from Santa's Workshop by Cartabella and Kraft Artisan cardstock.

If you want to have the matting cut it will save time. Tammy used Artisan green cardstock and the Santa's Workshop collection. She double matted them for extra strength.

Glue the pattern paper on top of the green cardstock for 12 squares

Large Calendar

Today's Tamra is making the calendar she did a few weeks ago only bigger! This will be a fabulous gift. 

For this size calendar you will need more paper. If you want to have your papers pre cut it will go faster. She didn't double mat this one like the smaller one due to the amount of paper but she did double mat the calendars.

Tamra is using the new Coffee Collection by Echo Park for the whole calendar available at Country Craft Creations

To print the calendars, cut down 12x12 white cardstock to 11 x 8 1/2 to fit in your printer. They don't print perfectly straight so go slow when cutting them on your cutters. She used both the horizontal and vertical calendars on this project.

Tammy double matted the cardstock with plain cardstock to give the train case extra strength. It takes very little paper and you can use up your 6 in scraps or a 6x6 paper pad.

Cutting Guide

Then I double mat the pages. You can skip the double matting. It does take extra paper. If you are going to double mat like I am, I am using a solid cardstock for this step. You will need to cut

14 - 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 Yes that is 14  :)

Pattern paper for the plain mat

If you want to go ahead and put the 4 x 6 pattern paper on the plain mat, you will be ahead. Then set them aside.
You will also want a ribbon for the tie closure and print out the 2019 calendars. Depending on the size they are after you cut them, I then matted mine on plain cardstock. Even if the calendars were a little off in size, I cut the mats all the same size so they would be uniform.
