What started out as an octagon desk organizer evolved in to square by Jayne Spanton. 


Desk Organizer – Rectangle Boxes
Instructions:
1. 1 @ 12 x 12 – Back Box
2. Score on 12in side @ 2in and 8in
3. Score on 12in side @ 1 7/8, 3 ¾, 7 ½ and 9 3/8.
4. Cut pattern paper for mats as follows: 
a. 4 pieces @ 5 7/8 x 1 ¾ and 4 pieces at 5 7/8 x 3 5/8 ( different papers for inside and outside )

5. 1 @ 12 x 9 ¾ - Middle Box
6. Score on 9 ¾ side @ 2in and 6in
7. Score on 12in side @ 1 7/8, 3 ¾, 7 ½ and 9 3/8.
8. Cut pattern paper for mats as follow:
a. 4 pieces @ 3 7/8 x 1 ¾ and 4 pieces at 3 7/8 x 3 5/8 ( different papers for inside and outside )

9. 1 @ 12 x 6 ¾ - Front Box
10. Score on 6 ¾ side @ 2in and 4 ½ 
11. Score on 12in side @ 1 7/8, 3 ¾, 7 ½ and 9 3/8.
12. Cut pattern paper for mats as follow:
a. 4 pieces @ 2 3/8 x 1 ¾ and 4 pieces at 2 3/8 x 3 5/8 ( different papers for inside and outside )

13. Inside bottom pieces of back, middle and front boxes:
a. 3 @ 1 ¾ x 3 5/8

14. Outside bottom of back, middle and front boxes: ( once they are all glued together )
a. 1 @ 3 5/8 x 5 5/8

If you want to add a box on each side of this set, you will need the following:

15. Make 2 more sets of #9 - #12
16. Cut 4 more pieces of 1 ¾ x 3 5/8 for inside and outside bottoms
17. Place these 1 box on each side, flush with bottom of 3 box set and flush to the back edge.

Cardstock
1-7 3/4 x 11 5/8

Lt weigh chipboard
2 - 1 3/8 x 5 5/8 
1- 1 3/8 x 7 1/2
1- 5 1/2 x 7 1/2

Matting 
2- 5 5/8 x 7 5/8
4- 1 3/8 x 5 5/8
2- 1 3/8 x 7 5/8

Large rubber bands are helpful when putting the boxes together
