Mon Amour DT Project: Altered Cigar Box with Mini Pocket Album

I absolutely loved making this creation, and I think this Graphic 45 Mon Amour collection has become one of my favorites! This collection is absolutely gorgeous and so very easy to work with, the complete collection comes with so much, there is plenty to do more than one project.

This is the altered cigar box. I have fussy cut some of the images from the beautiful papers and to compliment them even more (if that's possible) I used Glossy Accents to put dew drops on some of the flowers and I also Glossy Accented some of the leaves that I popped up...the lips of the lady are glossed too so they pop. I have also used a few other embellishments such as some small flowers, an old pen nib, a jeweled butterfly, an old crocheted doily, old flower lace, ribbon, Mon Amour chipboard tag and a white washed heart. I used a metal pull that I also white washed that is used to open the box.

A closer look at the box

The box was papered all over with the collection and I added 'feet' that I colored black to coordinate with the papers. Yes that is my 'handmade by Brenda' stamp on the bottom. I added the floral lace completely around the entire box. The lace worked in perfectly with the floral paper.

Inside the box to the left is the inside of the lid and to the right is the mini album resting comfortably inside. Aren't the graphics on this collection gorgeous!!!

I used a lacey corner punch to accent the black cardstock and then used some of the paper collection on top of that. The top layer is made from a vintage looking frame which I also used Mon Amour paper for the background and fussy cut the amorous couple and set them off center to allow more of the paper to show through. Ribbon finishes the montage.

The mini pocket album out of the box. I papered it using the fabulous Mon Amour collection and used it throughout the entire album. I embellished the cover with some of the chipboard pieces from the collection and I fussy cut the lovely lady. Her dress is accented with Glossy Accents on the flowers. A pretty jeweled butterfly with a black background ties it in with the background paper. A satiny pink ribbon serves as the closure all tied up in a pretty bow.

Open the album and the inside is papered with more of the fabulous Mon Amour collection. The inside cover is adorned with an antique doily with a ribbon behind it, and a beautiful chipboard accent piece on top of it. I also used one of the cut aparts and matted it, popped it up and applied it to the top as well. The right side shows an added back flap that is also papered in one of the gorgeous papers in the collection.

Open the album completely and you will find the layout of the album is based on Tammy Merrill's 'waterfall/hingeless' method. I made this a pocket album with pockets and tags on every page. The inside of the back flap has sweet pockets from the collection as well as the tags that fit perfectly inside them. I added some ribbons to complete the look.

Some of the inside pocket pages with the sweet tags inside.

The last page is made up of one of the ephemera pieces which I matted and created a pocket. A pink ribbon finishes the pocket and inside are 2 matted tags.

I left ample spacing on the long tags to accommodate journaling, pink ribbon pulls completes the look.

I hope you enjoyed my creation. I truly loved working with this Graphic 45 Mon Amour collection. You can find it easily and readily available with super fast shipping at: www.countrycraftcreations.com
